Delicious Homemade Chocolate Chip Banana bread recipe
When you have overripe bananas and chocolate chips in your pantry, sometimes there is nothing more enticing that whipping up some chocolate chip banana bread. It is easy and simple to put together and with a few simple ingredients, you have an easy go to snack that is a hit with kids and adults alike. Do you have vanilla, eggs, baking soda, salt and butter in your pantry? Some brown sugar? If yes, this recipe will be quick and easy. Just heat the stove to 350 degrees for 10 minutes. One of my favorite things about making baked goods from scratch is that I control the ingredients. I know what goes into my food. When you buy prepackaged banana bread, there are always an extensive list of ingredients, some of which I cannot even pronounce. It is just an entire litany of ingredients that I would prefer to stay out of my food. I've been a big proponent of knowing where your food comes from and what exactly goes into the process of making it. I feel if we don't get our hands in the food we are eating, we have no idea what we are putting into our bodies. Do you really want potassium sodium in your bread? How about some parabens? I would have to say no to all of that. I decided to make this bread with organic flour and real brown sugar. The butter I put into this banana bread is made from grass fed cows and the chocolate chips have just the basic ingredients. I used organic bananas and fresh sea salt. I guarantee that you will love this bread. It pairs well with a morning cup of coffee and will impress your friends over for a quick bite to eat. My kids love this bread too! Ingredients:
2 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 eggs, beaten
3 ripe mashed bananas
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup chocolate chips
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking soda and salt. In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar. Stir in eggs and mashed bananas. Stir until just moistened and place into pan.
Bake in preheated oven for 60 to 65 minutes, until toothpick inserted into enter of the loaf comes out clean. Let bread cool in pan for 10 minutes then turn in wire rack.
