Homemade All Natural Floor Cleaner

 Homemade All Natural Floor Cleaner

Although it is easy and practical to grab an eco-friendly floor cleaner from the store, it is more affordable to make my own.  Another benefit to making your own floor cleaner is you know exactly what the ingredients are.  Many times, I purchase an eco-friendly floor cleaner and there are several ingredients I cannot pronounce.  I like to have basic, easy-to-understand ingredients in the products I use. This floor cleaner can be used on hardwood, stone, and tile floors and has a pleasant orange smell.  The ingredients are basic and consist of water, white vinegar, orange peel, dish soap, and tea tree oil.   Once you mix all the ingredients, you are ready to begin mopping your floor.  Your floor will not only look shiny and beautiful but smell absolutely amazing.

By marinating orange peels in the white vinegar, you have a pleasant orange scent to the cleaner.

Then, you add the tea tree oil for it's disinfecting and cleaning properties.

Then you add a tsp of dish soap.  Any dish soap will do and I usually add the Trader Joe's dish soap which works perfectly.

To the orange-scented vinegar, dish soap, and tea tree oil, you add four cups of water and there you have it!

With just a few simple ingredients, you have your amazing and green floor cleaner!

Ingredients:

4 cups water
1 cup white vinegar w/ orange peel oil
1 tsp dish soap
20 drops tea tree oil

Mix all the ingredients together in a bucket.

I hope you enjoy making this floor cleaner as well as I did.  You are reducing the toxic load in your home and protecting the environment.  Enjoy!
